Adding a floral touch to your wedding cake is, shall we say, the icing on the cake? Edible fondant flowers are popular and add that extra something special to the cake. But if you want minimal icing decor and still want something bold to add to the cake, or if you are wanting fancy filigree and an extra floral touch, why don’t you think about adding fresh flowers to your edible centerpiece? Fresh flowers create a unique depth to a wedding cake. As you can see from our photos here you can do so many different things with a variety of flowers and greenery. You can run with the filigree and fondant icing decor and top off the cake with just a touch of floral and greenery, or you can go for tightly packed roses in between layers. Or perhaps just a few cascading clusters of your weddings’ flowers, or go all out with sprinkled rose petals.
